A Second wedding?
In 2020, amid the unexpected challenges of the world, we shared one of the most joyful moments of our lives: getting married, surrounded by our families - on Zoom. Now, on our 5th wedding anniversary, we are beyond excited to celebrate together in person at Aliki’s childhood home and garden—a place filled with memories and meaning.

It’s here, under the open sky and among the familiar trees, that we’ll finally have the chance to bring everyone together in love and joy.

Please note the entrance to our house is on Fleming street, even though the google maps address will take you to the Afroditis Street side.

There will be valet parking available and we also recommend using FreeNow (Uber) or taking a taxi.

Dress Code

Please remember it gets very hot in Greece in June (even at night time!) so dress lightly. The wedding celebrations will take place in our family home's grassy garden so please avoid high and pointy heels.

Tuxedos are not required but could be fun!

You will definitely need bathing suits, lots of sunscreen, hats and sunglasses for your stay in Greece!

We're so thankful  to our friends and family joining us in Greece to celebrate THIS SPECIAL TIME
All wedding activities will take place on the coastal Athens Riviera, in the Vari-Varkiza-Vouliagmeni area, which is a 20 minute drive from the Athens International Airport (ATH).

We recommend staying in the Athens Riviera area and either renting a car or using taxis and FreeNow (greek Uber) to get around during your stay. Although distances are small, they're a little too far to walk in the heat. We can also coordinate private transfers for larger groups in advance, so leave us a note if you'd like that.

The Athens Riviera is about 45 minutes from downtown Athens, and most accessible by a 25-minute drive to the metro station, then a 20-minute metro to the center.

PLAN YOUR STAY
Staying in the Athens Riviera area (Vari-Varkiza-Vouliagmeni) will be the best option for wedding festivities and beach going. It's also our favorite area of Athens and where Aliki grew up. We've chosen a few of our favorite hotels in the area, but because prices are so high in the summer our recommendation for best value and flexibility would be rentals in the area.
AirBnb
Vari-Varkiza-Vouliagmeni
We recommend booking an AirBnb or other rental in the following areas, in this order of preference: Vouliagmeni (chic beachside area with a lively center), Varkiza (beachside area) and lastly Vari (more urban but still lively, ~5 min drive from the coast).
Four Seasons Hotel
Vouliagmeni
Most hotels in the area are beautiful and comfortable (and priced high during the summer!) but the Four Seasons takes the lead in terms of amenities, room sizes and view.
ROC Hotel

A newly renovated hotel with beautiful views and amenities, part of an established chain of resorts.
Margi Hotel
Vouliagmeni
The Margi Hotel is a long-time staple in the area with a luxuriously cozy feel.
Hotel Azur

Azur Hotel has the best value in the area, in a prime location near the Vouliagmeni bay beaches, restaurant center and more.

We've listed some of our favorite spots for authentic greek food and treats in our area and beyond!  Fun fact: greeks eat lunch at around 4pm and dinner at 10pm!

The best souvlaki spot for traditional gyro wraps in the area (and beyond). Get the "Pork Gyro (or chicken alternatively) - tilihto (wrap) - apola (with all the toppings: Tomato, tzatziki, onions and fries)"

Vouliagmeni
Aliki's sister's farm and restaurant for amazing organic farm-to-table traditional and modern fare. Everything on the menu is delicious.

Aliki's sister's organic coffee and snack shop near the Vari center with traditional and modern greek breakfast and snack food.
[try the yogurt cheese pie and a freshly squeezes orange juice.]
Thanasis
Monastiraki
A huge restaurant that spans the entire block. If you visit downtown this is where you should eat.
Definitely get the Kebab yiaourtlou dish (kebab, pita, yogurt sauce and tomato sauce)  with extra baked tomatoes.
To Barbounaki
Vouliagmeni
Excellent seafood restaurant with view of the Vouliagmeni bay.
[try their fresh or marinated fish, prawns, octopus and delicious salads]
To Sardelaki Me Thea
Vouliagmeni
A modern take on seafood and sushi. Make sure you get a table in the privè area in the lower part of the restaurant that's right on the sea.
Latini
Varkiza
Great fish on the waterfront. Definitely let them know that Aliki's mom, Lou Fais, sent you so you can get the freshest fish.

[Try the fresh sea urchin and their house salad.]
Louizidis

Best for traditional greek fare, like pastitsio, mousaka and gemista.
[Don't get fish here, try their traditional dishes and grilled meats.]

make the most of athens
There's a lot to do in the southern suburbs of Athens (the Athens Riviera) and downtown, here are our top picks!
A day in downtown Athens
Monastiraki - Acropolis
The perfect way to see downtown is to start off with a guided tour of the parthenon at acropolis. Next, check out the Acropolis museum. Take a walk through the ancient market, then stop for lunch at Thanasis in Monastiraki.  Lastly, take a walk through the windy market streets of monastiraki.

We have a tour guide available at 9am on Saturday, june 21st for a group of 15, please let us know if you would like to book spots on the tour.

[the easiest way to get downtown is to park at or taxi to the metro station in Eliniko, and the take the metro to the Acropolis station. After lunch or dinner, you can take the metro  from the Monastiraki station back to Eliniko. The metro closes at 12am, but there are plenty of taxis available in the monastiraki square]

EXPLORE GREECE BEFORE OR AFTER THE WEDDING
Greece has beautiful beaches and seas. Explore food, history, and stunning sights wether on the mainland or the islands.The following are our favorite excursions, but there are many more adventures to . Sailing/yachting
Saronic Islands
Charter a  sailing boat, catamaran or yacht and visit the islands near by. Our top picks: Aegena, Hydra, Spetses, Poros.
[Hydra is known as the cat island because there aren't any cars, so cats thrive!]
Island Hopping
Cycladic Islands
Visit the Cycladic Islands by ferry, staying on each for a night or two. Check out Milos, Santorini and Mykonos, and a day trip to the uninhabited ancient city on Delos.

Mountain Excursion
Meteora & Metsovo
Take a roadtrip out to the stunning mountain villages of Meteora and Metsovo, filled with history and good food.
